LPU Online Student Info

What you need to know as an LPU online student.

LPU Online Student Handbook

Students are encouraged to review LPU’s Online Student Handbook, to understand all requirements, policies and procedures related to their academic courses and degree pursuits.

Academic Calendar

Academics are a critical component of the DLC program. Please note key dates on the LPU Academic Calendar, providing start and end dates, breaks, etc.

Academic Plan

An academic plan has been developed for each student based on their selected major and information they may have communicated with Amber Burnett (Registrar for LPU Online). This is a working plan and can always be adjusted as needed. If you would like to schedule a time to meet with her regarding the academic plan, she is happy to do that. You can schedule a phone or Zoom meeting by clicking here.

A specific link to access your academic plan file, was provided to you via email (from Amber Burnett). Note: you will need to have accessed your LPU email account before you can access this file (see LPU Email section below).  The credentials to log in are the same.

Student Portal

To access your student record, schedule, transcript, etc. you will log in to the LPU Portal. You have been assigned a user ID and password for this portal. If you have issues logging in, please email Amber Burnett to reset your password.

To change your password - after signing into the portal:

  • Go to the “Settings and Tools” tab.

  • Select “Change Password” and provide the requested information:

    • Current Password

    • New Password

    • Confirm New Password

    • Click “Submit”

Class Registration

Each student has been registered for their first semester of classes based on their academic plan. If a student has transfer work, the transfer work has been evaluated and they will not be registered for anything that is not needed for their degree. Since each degree has specific courses that need to be taken in the term, all future registrations will be handled for the student by Amber Burnett (Registrar for LPU Online).  If any adjustments to a schedule is needed throughout the program, the student will work directly Amber with regarding that.

To view your schedule, after logging into the LPU Portal:

  • Click “Student Records”

  • Under “Schedule Information”, click “Student Schedule”

  • To see all courses scheduled for the term, you will need to click the small arrow in the right corner to scroll to the next page of courses.

  • Courses begin and end dates will be listed

  • Books and materials can be found by clicking the small book icon in the bottom right corner of each course block.

LPU Email Accounts

All Life Pacific University students are required to use a “lifepacifc.edu” e-mail account. Most instructors require their students to use these accounts. Very often personal e-mail addresses do not reflect the name of the student causing confusion for delivery options. When you use your Life Pacific e-mail account the "from" name on the message will match your name on the class roster. Also, using a “lifepacifc.edu” e-mail account ensures that your e-mail messages are virus scanned - both the messages you send and the messages you receive. A benefit to having an “.edu” email account can be educational discounts that require an edu email account etc. Also, once you have logged in, you will have the ability to download the latest version of Microsoft Office. All communication from the university (Registrar’s office, Financial Aid, Student Account, professor communication etc) will go to your “lifepacifc.edu” email address, so it is imperative that you check this email account.

  • You can login to your student mailbox by clicking here

  • Your login information follows:

    • Email address: (1st letter in your name, followed by your last name)@lifepacific.edu

    • Sign in with: your provided email address

    • Password: When you first log in, you will have a case-sensitive temporary password. You will be instructed to change your password when you login the first time and to set up a secondary password recovery option.

    • Once you have logged in, select “Outlook” on the menu bar (top of screen) to set up and access your mailbox.

Books

Students are responsible to purchase books and materials on their own. The university does not stock or sell books in a local bookstore. Students will not receive a booklist for their courses and are responsible to consult the LPU Portal for their course schedule. Required textbooks can be viewed by selecting the small book icon in the bottom right corner of each course listing or you can find your required books via the MBS Bookstore (see information below) and locating your courses and viewing the required books. LPU currently work with MBS Direct, and they stock all of the necessary books. This may be the easiest and most convenient way to order your books, but you are free to purchase textbooks from any vendor you choose. Amazon.com, booksamillion.com, and christianbook.com are all reputable online vendors that our students have used in the past. Addall.com is a great comparison-shopping site and will show you the best prices available on the web. It is critical that you have these once class begins, so please order these in sufficient time.
